Dear Victoria

I am writing to tell you what is happening in Belfast .  Germans are bombing Belfast .  I feel quite sad but happy too.  I often get to see the Germans planes that have a strange symbol on the side of them.  We have to save food because we do not get a lot of food here.  My dad is away in war I am very worried about him.  Oh, are you well?  Is your family ok?  I miss you a lot and my mum is finding it hard looking after us all.  All I can do is play games, write and draw.  I hear bombs go off and I worry if it is near friends.  Miss you, please reply if you can.

Dear Nina,

I really miss you. It's just not the same without you here.  If you were here I would feel ok but without you I feel so very frightened. I hope you all feel perfect. I always get so scared at night because of my two year old brother Josh. He always is screaming madly at night and once he even jumped up and turned on the lights causing the wardens to come and knock on the door. My mum went down to answer it and as soon as my mum opened the door a bomb hit the house next door.  Is your mum back from her holiday yet?

                         Yours sincerely,

Dear Hannah,

Thank you for the last letter you sent me.  I hope you are keeping well with your family.  A lot has happened over here in Belfast .  Germans came and started to bomb.  It was quite scary.  Before they started to bomb we were eating our dinner and then someone knocked, it was the officers!  They only told us to turn off our lights.  I was terrified.  Then something hit the wall .It was a bomb!  We all had to hide in the bomb shelter.  After that the door was shaking and we heard someone saying "Let me in! Let me in!"  Finally they went away.  We didn't have much to eat; actually we only had a bag of fruit and vegetables.  Hope you are keeping well.  Best wishes,
